Make no bones about it: reading rocks!
Summer Reading registration is now open at the Thomas Beaver Free Library. This year’s theme is Unearth a Story, and we’re getting ready for a summer full of dino-mite books, prehistoric fun, and stories that never go extinct.
Readers can track their reading from June 1 through August 7 using Beanstack. As you log minutes, you’ll earn badges and entries for a chance to win prizes. Reading 1,200 minutes completes the challenge, but readers can keep going to earn even more badges and extra entries. You can also complete activities and write reviews for additional badges and entries.
This summer will also include an Adults vs. Kids reading challenge. Who will read the most?
Readers who participate in the Summer Reading Challenge are invited to join us for our Summer Reading Pizza Party on August 12. Certificates and prizes will be given out at the party.
Sign up now at tbflibrary.beanstack.org or through the Beanstack Tracker app. Need help getting started? Stop by the library and we can help you register.
Summer Learning Programs
Summer is a time for fun, rest, and adventure, but it is also a great time to keep learning alive. Research has shown that students in a traditional school setting can experience learning loss during long breaks from school. Summer learning programs can help by keeping children engaged, curious, and connected through stories, hands-on activities, creative projects, and opportunities to explore new topics.
At the Thomas Beaver Free Library, our summer programs are designed to support learning in a fun, welcoming environment. Whether your child is building reading confidence, exploring STEM-style activities, making art, sharing stories, playing chess, or discovering something new each week, the library is here to help keep minds active all summer long.
