In order to encourage reading, and intellectual and community engagement, the Thomas Beaver Free Library provides library services and resources to the residents of Montour County as well as to Rush and Riverside Townships. The Thomas Beaver Free Library has served the greater Danville area, in its original building, since 1888. We have 35,000 volumes and an extensive collection of DVDs and books on CD. In addition, our services include:
Computers – To access the internet or use a computer all you need is an internet agreement and a library card with us.
Children’s Reading Material – Picture books, elementary and intermediate levels.
Story Hour Programs – For preschoolers on Thursdays at 10:30 am – and the Summer Reading Program
Periodicals, Pamphlets and Newspapers – Regional and national, including some back issues.
Music CDs – Available for children and adults
EBooks – Available for children and adults
Large Print Books – Fiction and non-fiction
Reference Service – Visit the library, phone in requests, or use our contact form.
Copy Service – copies made at 20 cents per page.
Microfilm research – including local newspapers dating back to the 1800s.
Inter-library Loan – available to library patrons
